Eureka Challenge #78

It's time for a brand new challenge at the Eureka Stamps blog.

Our challenge this week {#78} is to incorporate a butterfly.  Here's the card I created for this week's reveal.

I'm not "blessed" with butterflies, but I rummaged through my stash and found a few and used this cute chipboard piece.  The digital stamp I used is "Sunshine Day" and you can find it in the store right here.

I printed it out and used a big circle punch and then inked the edges.  I punched another circle out of patterned paper and overlayed the stamped circle on that.

My Art Project

I'm finally getting my finished art project posted.  It's a 7 Gypsies white wooden printer's tray.  The 12 openings are perfect for holding 12 artist trading cards.

So, this is what it looked like before I put any of my ATCs in it.

I took some jute twine and made a bow to hide the nail.

Here's the finished project again.  I'm just thrilled with how it turned out and had the perfect spot for it in my scrap room.

I wanted to share two other things with you.  This is a Valentine card that I received in a swap.

My friend Libby created this lovely tri-fold card.

I received this from Giorgia, all the way from Italy ~ she made this beautiful bracelet and ring.

Thanks for stopping by today.

Eureka Stamps Challenge #77

Welcome to a new week of challenges at Eureka Stamps.

This week's challenge {#77} is "Animal Friends".  Here's the card I created for this week's challenge.

The digi stamps I used is "Duck Under The Weather" and the sentiment is the matching "Under The Weather".

Here's a close-up photograph.

If you'd like to play along in our "Animal Friends" challenge, you can link your project up right here.

I thought I posted my "Art Project" before I went out of town for the weekend, but in my haste ~ I guess I put it in "draft" instead.  LOL  So, be sure to come back tomorrow to see my art project.

Thanks for stopping by today and Happy Monday.

Eureka Challenge #76

Our challenge this week at Eureka Stamps is "Hearts ~ Love Is In The Air".

Here's the card I created for this week's reveal.

I used "Bunch of Hearts" digi 28604.   You know how the glitter sometimes just doesn't show up in your photograph?  Well, I loaded the glitter onto this image and I think it was almost "glitter overload".  It was too late to re do the coloring though, so I'm just going with it.  It's really prettier IRL than it looks in the picture.  I DO love all the doilies and how the diecut and gingham bow look.

Here's a close-up photograph.

I colored the image then fussy cut it out and attached it with pop dots.

If you'd like to join our challenge, you can add your creation over on the blog.

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful Monday!

New Projects

I've been so busy here ~ I've created some DT projects, but mostly, I've been working on my own "art project".   I'm getting close to being done with it and can't wait to show it off!!

Here's my Turtle Soup February card for the DT reveal.  It's based on a sketch by Bev Code.  This is a hybrid card and I used patterned papers and elements from the Dmogstad Lucky In Love collection.

Here's Bev's sketch:

Here's my double page layout for Project 12 ~ January 2014, based on a sketch by Lisa Moen.

If you'll click on it, it will enlarge and you can see more of the detail.

My grandkids are SO funny!  One of them is ALWAYS making a funny face in almost every picture.  The picture where I have the arrow and "Photo bomb" is Cameron "photo bombing" and making that sober (very un-Cameron) face.  Haha  Of course, he yelled "photo bomb" when he jumped into the shot.

That picture of Alyssa pulling her eyelids down is typical of her.  The bottom left picture is a hoot, because Braden was talking to her and there she is making a face.  Of course, she saw me turn my camera toward them ~ he didn't.  I love that picture of Braden, though.  He's totally unaware.  Haha

Anyway, here's Lisa's January 2014 Project Life sketch:

I just LOVE her sketches ~ they always inspire me.

I hope you're having a Happy Hump Day and thanks for stopping by.

Two Posts In One Day.....

How rare is this for me?  LOL  I really need to get a couple  more things on my blog today, so it's a double post day.

First of all, we're having an February event at Sketches4all called "Love Is In The Air".  It starts today and will end on February 13th at midnight, EST.  If you'll visit this link ~ you'll find 8 different challenges posted by the design team.  You only need to participate in 3 of them to be eligible for the grand prize.

I'm hosting an ATC {Traditional Colors} challenge and here's the ATC I created for inspiration.

You know I love me some cardboard.  I painted this cardboard white then sprinkled it with glitter.  I did my "thing" with the Mod Podge and glitter on the last, too.  The rest of the ATC is just lots of layers of little embellishments.

Here's a close-up photograph:

Here's a close-up of the sugar lips.

I also wanted to post this ATC that I created for the Supreme Scrap Tournament ~ a world-wide scrap tournament that I entered.  I'm on the USA card team and our first "surprise challenge" was to create an ATC and the theme is "Home".  There were lots of rules and I hope I followed them.  Here's what I created.

Surprise surprise ~ I used cardboard again.  Haha  This time I painted it black.  One of the rules is that we had to have "text" on our ATC.  I found this patterned paper with script on it (by Christy Tomlinson) and combed through it until I found some words I could use.

Since we just moved, these "words" really mean a lot to me.   This ATC has MANY coats of Mod Podge on it ~ I thought it would NEVER dry.

Here's a close-up photograph:

I wish this detail showed up on the front view this well.  I'm SO thrilled with the depth and layers I was able to get.

Here's one more close-up:

I worked a long time on this.  I thought about it for a whole day ~ how was I going to convey the theme and stay within the rules of the challenge?  Anyway, my hubby likes it ~ he's my best fan and a keen critic.  If he doesn't like something ~ he's really sweet ~ he just says, "This isn't your best work."  He liked it ~ he DID say it was quite different but "different was good this time."

Thanks for stopping by again ~ I really appreciate it!

Eureka Stamps Challenge #75

It's time for a new challenge at Eureka Stamps.

This week's challenge {#75} is "Red, Pink & White".  Here's the card I created for this week's reveal.

I used the digi stamp "Cat With Hearts" and you can find it in the Eureka store right here.

I used double thickness of the red heart doilies and put them on angles under the cat.  I had this cute speech bubble that I added.

Here's a close-up photograph.

I think my kitty is so cute and I didn't have to do much coloring on him since he was white.  I colored all of the hearts different shades of pink since I was using the red doilies.

If you'd like to play along, you can link your project right up on the blog.

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful Monday!!

2014 Layouts

Can you believe it???  Where did January go?

I've been creating some more layouts for challenges at Turtle Soup.  Here are a couple of "everyday moments" that I captured.

Ava, Alyssa and Asher were having a great time looking at Ava's phone.  I don't even think they knew that I took this picture.  My grandkids (and my kids) have all grown up with my camera in their faces and they don't even pay any attention to it anymore.  I love these un-posed shots!

I used Echo Park A Beautiful Life and the doilies are from Pixel Scrappers.

I know you've probably seen this picture before (if you read my blog) but I made this layout as a "companion piece" to the one above.  Again, it's an un-posed shot of Asher "smelling" a flower.

I've also been doing Project 12 over at Turtle Soup.  Lisa  has been creating awesome double page layouts for us for the past year.

She just had a challenge to do a page on "2013 A Year In Review".  Here's what I came up with:

I really had fun putting this together.  All of them except the one of the 2 big boys are instagram prints.  The background patterned papers are Bo Bunny Mamarazzi.

One more ~ Lisa also issued a new challenge for us to make a cover page for our 2014 Project 12 album.  This was SO much fun to create!!

I'm not going to tell you that you won't see some of these pictures on my January Project 12 layout, because these are some of my favorite pictures of the kids.  They were ALL here weekend before last and I was a photo taking fool!!  I'll TRY to mix it up, but again, no promises.  I KNOW I'll use some of these on a layout soon ~ even if it's not January Project 12.

I'll be posting Monday for sure ~ that's Eureka Stamps reveal day.  Hope to see you then.
